In reaction to my earlier post on “Faithful only when there is no opportunity”, a lot of my friends commented over MSN (now I don’t know why they didn’t just say it on the blog). It seems like 90% of the people who responded agrees with the gloomy side of life. This brings us to a harsh reality (Ahh, the pessimism!).… Is no one really truly faithful? Does true love exist? Are human beings inherently evil? Is our ‘good behavior’ learnt?

It may seem like I’m quite the pessimist when it comes to love, but I’d like to believe I’m one of the few lucky ones. However there’s a lot that I’ve seen in my (not so short after my last b’day!) life that got me thinking about what I just mentioned about true love and faith.

Now, the actual picture seems pretty bleak. I know quite a few people who are involved in some form of a relationship whether a puppy love, a fling, a real relationship or a marriage. It looks to me that, in majority of the relationships one party is always cheating to some extent! How many relationships do know of, where the man sends flirty smses to some random girl without the girl friend knowing about it, intentionally lure another woman he’d like to sleep with, have an affair with the secretary, have an online relationship with another woman, sleep with the best friend’s wife, keep his ex-girl friend’s cute little gifts in his closet, hook up with his female colleague while he’s away on a business trip etc etc… Now it’s not just men…I’m sure some of us knows of women who does a bit more than necessary to impress their bosses without regard for their husband, call the ex-husband while the real husband is away, chat to strangers on MSN chat rooms, have meaningless physical relationships with boyfriend of her closest buddy, steal a good friend’s husband etc etc.

I wonder if I’m going through life with a negativity that’s non-existent. But somehow life keeps proving itself to me and believe me the truth is dirty! All of us who are in any kind of relationship, ask yourselves (I include myself here as well)…will our relationship survive after a session in something like Fox’s TV Show “The Moment of Truth”?

Do you regret being in this marriage?
Are you truly in love?

If you and your partner can pass the test, congratulations! You are in one mind-blowing relationship!
