I’ve always been a huge fan of firefox and when Hotsteppa introduced me to the world of firefox add-ons I was as excited as a child with a new toy (let’s make it a huge box of toys!)

Since then, I’ve been totally hooked! I’ve using many of the add-ons from the huge array of cool add-ons. They really make my online experience a lot easier and stylish too!

Gmail voice and video chat!

Great news for Google lovers! Gmail Chat has now enabled voice and video capabilities. How cool is that? From within Gmail, i.e. your web browser, you can have an actual conversation with and chat face to face over video! Yes, I love Google for a reason!

As usual simple steps you need to get started with:

Download the Gmail voice and video chat plug-in, quit all open browser windows, and install the plug-in.
Sign in to Gmail.
In the Chat section of your Gmail, select the contact you want to call. If they have a camera icon next to their name, you can make a voice or video call to them; just click Video & more.

If your friend doesn’t have a camera next to their name in your chat list, you can invite them to download the Gmail voice and video chat plug-in from the Video & more menu in a chat window. Even if your friend doesn’t have a video camera, you can still make a voice call or a 1-way video call.

Voice and video in Gmail only works with the newer version of Gmail in supported browsers: FF 2.0+, IE 6.0+, Safari 3.0+, and Google Chrome.

Without installing an instant messenger, now you can have an actual video chat. For all those who work in organizations where instant messengers are not allowed during work hours, here’s your chance. Find out more on Gmail Blog and sneak in some fun!

Google Earth for iPhone and iPod touch!

Here’s great news for anyone who’se ever dreamt of carrying the Earth in your pocket! Google has now introduced Google Earth for iPhone and iPod touch.

Google Earth since its launch in 2005, has been an awe-inspiring creation that has been extremely popular among internet users all over the globe. Today Google has taken Google Earth to a new level. With just a swipe of a finger you can fly from Maldives to Newzealand to Malta, or anywhere in between. As Google says, “it may be small, but it brings all the power of Google Earth to the palm of your hand, including all of the same global imagery and 3D terrain”. According to Google you can even browse any of their 8 million Panoramio photos or read Wikipedia articles etc.

Here are some cool things you will be able to do with Google Earth for iPhone, you can:
• Tilt your iPhone to adjust your view to see mountainous terrain
• View the Panoramio layer and browse the millions of geo-located photos from around the world
• View geo-located Wikipedia articles
• Use the ‘Location’ feature to fly to your current location
• Search for cities, places and business around the globe with Google Local Search

For those who don’t already use it often or are not informed of it, xe.com is the largest and the most widely used currency converter tool on the web. It has all the currency rates of the world in its live converter that’s almost real time.

Since I’ve discovered it, it has helped me immensely on all matters related to foreign exchange, expense calculating, currency rate monitoring etc.

Equipped with many useful tools, trading and licensing, xe.com gives you a really easy and convenient way to manage your exchange expenses. I simply love it.

Download Google Toolbar 5 for Firefox!

Since the launch of several new features for Google Tool bar in internet explorer, Google users have been impatiently waiting for the day the new features will be supported on Firefox. Wait no more, Google has now launched the new Google Toolbar for firefox, available in 29 languages!

In addition to the features that we usually use, there are some impressive new features in the new version.

Most amazing feature on the new Tool bar could perhaps be the Autofill. We can now create several profiles with personal or business information including different addresses, email addresses and credit card details. This allows users to autofill any online form with just one click! Now, there’s a feature I’m gonna love! In terms of security, though Autofill information is safely stored only in our own computer, credit card numbers are encrypted and protected by a password. So there is no need to worry!

Another very cool feature is the fact that we can add several Google Gadgets to the Toolbar. from the gallery. News, tools, emails, information etc can all be accessed with just a click on the new toolbar! I particularly like the fact that I can search or view videos using the You-tube Gadget on the toolbar.

Download new Digsby

The new Digsby is here with a better and improved version! Digsby has just released Build 32, which improves performances, improves connectivity, fix most of the remaining bugs, and add some new functionality to boot.

Here are the new changes;

RAM Usage: Digsby has optimized and fixed memory leaks to lower RAM usage by almost 75% as it was the number one complaint since Digsby has launched.
Performance: User interface elements draw twice as fast for better performance. Digsby has made changes to the architecture that will improve GUI responsiveness and CPU utilization across the board.
Connectivity: Every IM protocol automatically tries multiple connection methods and ports to improve the odds of getting through restrictive firewalls and proxy servers.
LinkedIn: Digsby now supports LinkedIn in addition to the other social networks. Functionality includes a full newsfeed, alerts when new messages arrive, and the ability to set status right from Digsby.
Bug Fixes: Digsby has fixed hundreds of bugs, making it more stable than ever. There have been almost 3,000 revisions in their codebase since the last release.

Once again, my favourite instant messenger has outdone itself. Go ahead, try it yourselves. I’m right on it! Download new version of Digsby!

Google’s wonder product for free photo management for pc, Picasa has now been improved and taken to a new level with the new launch of the beta version of Picasa 3.0.

What makes Picasa so awesome is the simple way you can maneuver and play you’re your photos. You can organize and manage your photos, edit, crop, style etc. to them with one click.

In addition to this synchronizing your photo albums on the pc to the web has never been made easier! Hence, with the introduction of the beta version, Google’s two year old web product, Picasa Web Albums has now been improved and made even better for its users.
